Welcome!
Hi, welcome to my blog of a first car restoration project. I always wanted to restore a car of some kind and came across this 1978 Triumph Spitfire through a freind who knew the car was for sale. I hope that by recording my progress with this car it may help others with the same car but as this is my first project may also inspire others to give it a go.

First Repair - O/S Front Tub
Should have taken the before photo of this, the upper and lower A post were rotten on this car. Initially I did not support the window frame properly before cutting and things moved! Would strongly advise welding a post between the window frame and back of the floorpan area before doing this job as well as door gap brace as I found out the hard way that trying to re fit the door is a nightmare! Next job is to cut back remainder of old sills for complete replacement.
The old lady gets stripped and the work begins !
The car came to bits quite easily. To this stage took 25 hours. The fuel tank, interior, bonnet and many other components being stored at my brothers place until required again. Luckily my dad has offered to refurb some parts like the hood frame and trimmings, thanks dad!
The Beginning
This picture was taken the day the car was purchased. It had been washed and polished and looked not too bad.
